SAFEMODE Project Final Event and Workshops Held in Piraeus

The final event of the SAFEMODE Project, together with a series of technical workshops, took place on 9–10 November 2022 in Piraeus, Greece, hosted at the Piraeus Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The event brought together more than 100 participants, including researchers, industry representatives, and project partners working on improving safety in aviation and maritime operations. The meeting was organized by Centre for Research & Technology Hellas (CERTH) and marked an important milestone in the conclusion of the European H2020 SAFEMODE research project.

Over the course of two days, participants reviewed the project’s achievements, exchanged insights, and discussed future developments in the field of human factors, safety management, and transport risk analysis.

We would like to sincerely thank everyone who joined the event both in person and online, as well as the entire SAFEMODE consortium for their collaboration throughout the project.

Special thanks go to:

  • Simone Pozzi (Deep Blue) – Project Coordinator
  • Barry Kirwan (EUROCONTROL) – Aviation Scientific Coordinator
  • Osman Turan and Rafet Emek Kurt (University of Strathclyde) – Maritime Scientific Coordinators

We would also like to acknowledge the contributions of all SAFEMODE project partners, including leading research institutions, universities, and industry organizations such as Airbus, Embraer, Ryanair, Rolls-Royce, EUROCONTROL, and many others who collaborated throughout the project.

BeeBI Consulting GmbH is proud to have been part of this international consortium contributing to research on aviation and maritime safety, human factors, and advanced risk modelling.

Although the SAFEMODE project officially concludes this year, the knowledge and collaboration developed during the project will continue to contribute to improving safety frameworks across global transport systems.
